Video Of Toddler Dancing With Dad To Celebrate The Little Guy Being Cancer-Free For 11 Months Goes Viral

Cancer sucks. It claims the lives of hundreds of thousands of Americans every year. This little guy, however, beat the deadly disease. Kristian was born with Down Syndrome and was diagnosed with leukemia while still an infant. But he proved he's a warrior, too. After receiving several rounds of treatment, he was declared free of cancer. Now, 11 months later, his father Kenny Thomas is still so happy, he's still celebrating their victory. This time, with a dance.

The father and son recorded a dance to a song by Lil Mama. The heartwarming video has been racking up tens of thousands of views on Kenny's social media accounts, and people love every second of it. They have thanked the dad for brightening their day with the adorable footage and adored the bond the two of them share.

"Kristian was just 14 months when he was diagnosed," Kenny told Bored Panda. "He was born with Trisomy 21 also known as Down Syndrome. When he was born he had a rare blood disorder being born with very low platelet cells. For the first year of his life, he was getting blood work done every week to keep an eye on his condition. We eventually found out he had leukemia from back to back fevers.

"Once we found out he was diagnosed he had to get surgery the same day. Before Chemotherapy treatments hit my son's body. I pulled myself out to have a word of Prayer. Then went to pray with my family. We knew that in order to defeat this Cancer, we would need a positive mindset and develop a positive atmosphere around Kristian at all times."

To make the most out of a difficult situation, Thomas — who owns the New Jersey's Kenny Clutch dance studio — started documenting his son's courageous battle with cancer by breaking it down on camera. He released a series of popular Instagram dance videos with each milestone of Kristian's journey.

Coupled with the hashtag #FightChristian, the recordings have garnered thousands of views and responses.

"My wife and I owned a Dance studio called The Level Dance Complex. I'm a Hip-Hop dancer-instructor by profession and now a motivational speaker. On day 8 of being in the hospital, I started dancing for him to train myself because the studio was shut down to focus on his recovery. He enjoyed it so much we made it an everyday thing to keep the positivity train going," the father explained.

Thomas and Kristian even won Ciara's "Level Up" social media challenge. It was a dance in honor of Kristian undergoing his first round of chemotherapy at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia last June. The pop star even awarded the family in person.

Kristian defeated cancer in half the time expected. What was supposed to be a 300-day process, Kristian beat leukemia in just 149 days.

"Cancer did a lot to our family, we lost our dance studio, 65% of our income, and our home is up for sale by the owner and we are fighting to secure it," Kenny revealed.

"Through all that we still keep our positive mindset, we still praise God and keep our faith on high. We know we will overcome this and it will be a Testimony and inspiration to the world to never give up to all ways fight even when you don't feel like it. The real battle has already been won you just have to go through to claim victory that is waiting for you."
