When asked what inspired him to start capturing the hidden patterns in nature and architecture through his photography, Savad explained, "Once I started flying drones, I saw the world with a whole new perspective. Patterns that were invisible on the ground suddenly stood out — the symmetry in city grids, the curves of coastlines, the flow of dunes in the desert. I was especially drawn to the way both natural landscapes and human architecture shared this quiet order. Drone photography gave me the tools to reveal those connections in a visually powerful way."
Of course, not every location is the same, and when it comes to memorable experiences, Savad shared one that truly stood out: "One of the most unforgettable moments of my journey was flying a drone over the pyramids in Egypt. Seeing these ancient structures from above was absolutely surreal. The contrast between geometry and raw landscape tells a story thousands of years old. Capturing that harmony — human design perfectly embedded in natural terrain — was one of the most powerful moments I’ve had as a photographer."
Capturing scenes at their most magical takes both preparation and instinct. Speaking about how he knows when it’s the right moment to shoot, Savad said, "For drone work, it’s all about light and timing. Early morning or late afternoon is when patterns reveal their full depth. I also study the location beforehand, checking angles, weather, and sun position. Sometimes it’s instinct too — there’s a moment when everything feels aligned, and that’s when I send the drone up."
As for the techniques and equipment he relies on to bring out the fine details in his images, Savad shared, "I fly drones equipped with high-resolution sensors, mainly DJI Mavic 3 Pro, and shoot everything in RAW. I often fly at different altitudes to find the perfect balance between detail and abstraction. In post, I use color grading techniques using Lightroom and Photoshop to bring my own style to the image."
At the heart of it all, Savad hopes to inspire a deeper appreciation for the world’s hidden beauty. "I want people to feel a sense of wonder — to realize there’s an artistry in the landscape that we often overlook. Patterns connect us — across cultures, across time — and seeing them from above can change the way we relate to both nature and the built world. Whether it’s the pyramids in Egypt or a simple patch of farmland, there’s beauty in the design of things, and I hope my work helps people see that."
