With Halloween approaching, black cats inevitably get pulled into the usual mix of witches, magic, and spooky stories. But behind all those superstitions, they’re still just cats, and Japanese photographer Masayuki Oki has spent years capturing exactly that.
Last year, we featured a collection of black cats photographed on streets around the world. This time, we’re looking at the work of Oki, who photographs the cats roaming the streets of Japan. His pictures capture plenty of personality, from suspicious stares and dramatic poses to lazy afternoons and little street-side arguments.
