World War I was one of the biggest wars in history of humankind. Around 70 million soldiers were recruited. The Macedonian front was formed in 1915 and remained until 1918. The remnants of the war can be seen even today.
Students from "Josip Broz Tito" high school in Bitola were involved in a project about the remembrance of the WWI recently. Five high schools from the country were included in the project realized by ALDA Skopje (European Association for Local Democracy) and financed by the British Embassy in Skopje.
The students from Bitola prepared a series of photographs of their home town during the war and now. The photos show how Bitola has changed in the period of 100 years and they show the damage that the buildings took during the war.
