Erecting statues has been a way for humans to honor things for an extremely long time. In fact the earliest known statue, an interpretation of the female form, is dated back to 35,000 years ago. That’s a long time ago. Since then, statues have become a way for us to honor and preserve the memory of important ideas from gods, to kings to important religious figures. China is a land with a rich history, so it’s no surprise that they have quite a few statues honoring a multitude of things. They may have outdone themselves…and everyone else for that matter with their latest statue however. The statue honors the god of war, and it has to be seen to be believed.
