Bored Panda once again reached out to Monse, who told us what has changed since the last post.
“A lot has changed! I got married, moved to Chile, and opened my own tattoo studio!”
As for the cloud drawings, Monse shared how often she finds clouds that can be interpreted as other things.
“I always find shapes and animals in the clouds (not only clouds—wood grain patterns, marble, rocks). I think it’s hardest for me when it’s a picture sent by a follower. Sometimes the shape is very obvious and other times, I can’t see what they see, which is a little challenging.”
We were wondering what tools or software Monse prefers to use. She wrote: “I use Procreate on my phone, I love it! Since my phone’s always with me, it’s easy to just take a picture of a cloud when I see it and start drawing right away!”
“Keep your inner child alive,” noted Monse when asked about the message she tries to convey.
“Seeing shapes in clouds is something that we’ve all done at least once, no matter where we’re from. Once we grow up, we forget to take a breath and enjoy the little things, like looking up at the sky and admiring its beauty. We live under stress and leave our imagination and creativity on stand-by.”
Monse also shared a time when a reader's response really made her feel good about her work.
“I once got a message from a boy from Iran. He would send me voice messages telling me how he found animal shapes in the clouds and kept in touch for a while. I thought it was beautiful that my work could inspire a child to do the same and enjoy clouds the same way I do.”
Lastly, the artist added: “Keep your imagination active! Don’t let the hassle of adult life take away the magic in all the little wonders that surround us.”
