You not only assume NASA does nothing else but spend taxpayer money, but you also don't bother to realize that NASA's funding makes up 0.5% of the entire US budget - and, I'll add, was cut by $16 billion as compared to last year's budget. I'll wholeheartedly agree with your sentiment that the US should take care of its people - but stating NASA's supposed uselessness is ignorant and doesn't prove your point.
