Mainstream LDS has a sense of community that is lacking among other religious organizations. I had family members who converted to LDS, and when they needed help, the brothers and sisters in the LDS church stepped up to assist. I can't be more grateful for the friendship they gave my sister in her final years. My sister tried for a while to interest me in the LDS church. I told her I wasn't about to give up coffee for anybody. ;)
