We’re currently spending about that much on one of our two dogs, a year. It didn’t phase either of us to put that down to make sure she’s got the best life she could have (she’s 2 and has a severe heart defect). I would rather get married at city hall with no dress and only family than to spend that money elsewhere. How people treat animals is pretty telling of their core values.
