I decided to look for my birth mother when I was in my early 20s and my Mom and Dad were supportive. They said they would want to know, too. They had met her personally, and my Mom told me everything she could remember. They didn't feel threatened. I was lucky to have good parents. When I met my birth mother, it was OK, but I wouldn't have wanted to grow up in that family. My brother was also adopted from a different family, but he had no interest in knowing about them.
