From barracoon, from Portuguese "barraca" - slàve pen or depot". The -oon suffix is a diminutive or pejorative meaning smaller(or less in status) thing/person (like maroon, shabberoon, spittoon, spadroon). So "person of the slàve pen" with a strong negative connotation.

Uh, all the major grocery chains are on electronic pricing here, so I don't even know where could I go to buy basics. Non chain stores are usually focused on selling food from a certain county or continent so they don't stock the everyday perishables like potatoes, cucumbers, yoghurt, cream, cheese etc

if it has rice, it will overnight. Also why the eff did they remove the fridge anyway?
