Hey Pandas, Have You Ever Said Something To Deliberately Hurt Someone Else? What Was It, And Why Did You Say It? (Closed)

I used to do it all the time. When I had an argument with someone I believed that my goal was to achieve one of three things which would mean I won:

1. Make them walk away,
2. Make them cry,
3. Make them hit me.

I would target their insecurities. Their appearance, social life, home life, intelligence. It didn't matter, I'd find something, and once I hit a nerve, I'd keep going until of of the 3 requirements had been met.

During my therapy I learnt that in order to actually 'win' an argument you needed to get the other person to concede to your point of view using logic and well placed explanations and that sometimes you still win even if you continue to disagree but remain civil.

I don't think we are defined by the things we say, but more from the things we learn along the way.

I called my (ex) friend an entitled transphobic bitch.
That's pretty self explanatory.

I called my husband a poor excuse for a man and said that he doesn't deserve the air that he breathed. He was very abusive and after being beat on a nearly daily basis for 5 years, I worked up my courage to voice my thoughts of him and left.
