I didn’t pass the test.

I read the first question and didn’t understand it, so I figured I’d go through the whole test and answer the ones I knew first. I read through until the last question and didn’t answer anything yet.

I’m sitting in the room waiting for my exam results to be handed back in the last class I have to take before I graduate from college. Haven’t passed any tests yet but write great papers. Instructor knows how much I need to pass this class. He knows I’ve been working hard. He’s approaching my desk. He’s avoiding my eyes. He quickly lays my graded paper on my desk and hurries away.
