Whether it was a flirty comment, a not-so-subtle invite, or a major sign of interest, sometimes the message just doesn’t land. So, spill it: what’s the most painfully obvious hint you’ve ever dropped that your crush completely missed?

I was the oblivious crush - when I was 18 a friend of mine liked me (she was really hot as well), but I was totally unaware. We ended up sharing a bed after a night out (I'd offered to sleep on the sofa), both fully clothed. She told me that her skirt was uncomfortable, and would I mind if she took it off? Then she said she was a bit cold, and would I mind if she cuddled up to me. Then she put one of her legs across me, for 'extra warmth'. The whole time I was thinking how nice it is to have a close female friend. She assumed I was gay at this point. We've been married 22 years in November. I'm an idiot. And she's still really hot.

We were colleagues and I had an instant crush on him, from his very first day at work. (There were some red flags, but I graciously ignored them 🙄)
Shortly after, his father was diagnosed with cancer; I had some relations in the medical field, so I moved mountains to find the best doctors and treatment options. Unfortunately, the disease was very aggressive and his father passed away. Again, I used my relations, time and energy to support him and his family with everything related to the funeral. I told him he could rely on me; that I considered him more than a friend and I that hoped it was mutual.
He didn't seem to process the message. He took everything I offered as he was entitled to receive it. He didn't care when I was hospitalized a few months later (not even a text message).
Fast forward a few years, he married another colleague, a girl who was madly in love with him. Her parents were very rich. The couple received an expensive mansion in the city as their new home, and an exotic vacation as wedding presents.
Once, I accidentally witnessed a discussion between him and his wife. He was rude and inconsiderate, and she was desperately trying to please him. She complained several times about the way he was treating her.
He also bragged to a common acquaintance about how smart he had been by marrying a rich girl, because, in his words: "you can always find a beautiful, supportive girl, but a girl who is rich is hard to find."
My, did I dodge a bullet.

Asked him to go to our high school graduation with me. I am female, was 16 years old at the time, extremely shy but put myself out there to ask him (not sure where I found the courage). He said no.

It wasn't a hint, I literally just asked her to go to a Frontline Assembly concert with me. Which she turned down.
The guy she chose over me turned out to be very manipulative, and was using her past trauma to control and condition her.
She finally got away from him, but lost most of her friends and 5 years of her life in the process.
