Recently, I got rejected from an online project for which I have worked a lot.

Well, to go along with the general theme of the rest of the posts, I submit for your approval this:
I was 16, and had a crush on a girl. I mean crushing HARD! Had been for several months to a year. Didn't see her around school very often during that time, but eventually our social circles began to overlap. I was so damn nervous to ask her out. Between working up the nerve and waiting for the right moment to ask her out, I learned that my closest bro-friend was crushing on her as well and was in the same boat as I was. Well, time passes and both bro-friend and I finally ask her out withing days of each other. Now, bro-friend and I knew how each other felt. We would even sit around and talk about how we felt with each other...How's that for weird? Anyway, the 3 of us were hanging out and we had "the talk"...and what she said is still burned in on my memory. She told me that she found bro-friend more attractive and "That if you lost weight, you'd be a knockout." I can accept that the went with bro-friend,but the weight remark and how she said it added salt to the wound. She said it so non chalantly like they were no big deal, but they cut deep. Next day, I was crying on bro-friends shoulder. I was destroyed and it took months to rebuild. Looking back, I can see it was a blessing in disguise. Never would have worked and she eneded up cheating on bro-friend a few months after, and that was a common occurrence with her and that it was a bullet dodged.

Recently, I was broken up with and when I asked why he broke up with me, he said that I wasn't good enough like flat out said that I wasn't good enough for him...but it's alright

I was 14 or 15 at the time.I was away on vacation with my family for 2 weeks visiting family and couldn't talk to my "girlfriend" (this was back in the early 1990s, before easy communication). When I got home, I excitedly called her, wanting to talk about the last two weeks. One of her parents answered, and I asked for her. I heard them yell to her that (not my name) on the phone for her. I figured they just were messing with her or me, since they didn't get my name right the first few times I came over. she came to the phone, with a "Hey! Been waiting to hear from you!" I said "Hey (name)! We just got back home, and I couldn't wait to talk to you! Anything exciting happen while I was away?" .... "Ummm, who is this?" She asked ... "It's me, (my name)" I said ... "Oh. Uhhh, hi." She said, with disappointment in her voice. .... "Everything ok?" I asked. "Oh, well, I met someone while you were gone and hoped you wouldn't call when you got back so I didn't have to break up with you, so uhhhh .... sorry you called and found out this way. " .... a few seconds of silence ... "you OK?" She asked ... "nah, I'm not, but I guess best of luck with (other guys name)? I really liked you, just want you to know that." And I hung up.

When I was 17 after leaving school I was staying with my Dad. I’d been there a few weeks and we’re chatting one day he says mid conversation oh by the way I’m not a hundred percent sure I’m your Dad.
I’m in shock , he told me my mum had been with his friend when they met and he didn’t think he was my father. Then asked me to move out.
We worked it out, but oh my did it hurt

One day when I was around 10 or so my stepfather came to my psychologist's office, so she took him in to chat. She started off with hellos and then said, "Now, your daughter -"
To which my stepfather, the only daddy I had (because my bio father had "better" kids and didn't care, btw), interrupted her with an ugly laugh and corrected, "Oh, she's not MY daughter".
In front of me.
This therapist was not good, and she caused more harm to me in the long run, but her jaw dropped when she heard this and sent me outside to talk with him alone. Damage was done, though.

My mother left me (15 f) and my brother (14 m) to be with a man she had been having an affair with. My parents were divorced and both remarried and we lived with her and our stepfather (who is the nicest man). My brother and I were watching television when our mother came down the steps with a suitcase and she announced she was leaving and moving to California (we lived in Pennsylvania). I was stunned, but my brother (he was younger) cried and begged her not to leave. Our father rushed over and busted into the gun cabinet my stepfather had and pulled a shotgun out and fired. My stepfather never kept the guns loaded (thank God). Our father was so mad that he tried to shoot her in front of us, so add THAT trauma on top of our mother leaving. After she left, I went to my paternal grandparents to live because my father's wife didn't want me living there, just my brother. My brother slept on our stepbrothers floor on a cushion until he joined the Marines. He was so angry about everything and it never left him.

When I was 7 I was deeply inlove with my teacher. My teacher said I cant get extra credit. I cried that night.

Not quite a rejection because it's still on going, but I really, really like my guy best friend, and most of the time I think he thinks we're just friends and oh wow does it hurt. This is until he does something like standing behind me in such a way I think he's going to put his arm around me, asking me to tie his tie for him, or grabbing my wrist so close to my hands I could lace my fingers through his. he will do things like this and then the next day only say a few words. I'm so confused by this boy!

It’s not really a rejection but I’ve liked this guy for 3 years and each year I’ve asked him out and he repeatedly says no. Then one day he nonchalantly rates me a 9 and starts listing everything he likes about me. So a 3 year long rejection story might end.
