Hey Pandas, What's The Absolute Worst Dating Experience You Have Ever Had? (Closed)

I'll go first. When I was in my freshman year of high school I started dating a boy I knew. He was charismatic, funny, sweet, kind, and had a beautiful voice. We knew each other for a while before we started dating and had a good relationship as friends! He asked me out over the summer break and I said sure! Even though I wasn't really into him, I assumed people could just develop feelings over time... Sorry dude... Anyways we started dating and everything went well for 3 months. But then he started to, well change! He became mega depressed and started talking about maybe (offing) himself because someone really close to him died (he also self-harmed a LOT). I became his therapist and consultant while he got back on his feet mentally. As he got better he became jealous of my male friends and became sure I was cheating on him. I cried a lot. But I was so scared to leave him because he threatened to (off) himself if I did. And I knew he'd do it too. He yelled at me a lot and was so angry when I told him about something that was embarrassing to me(a fictional anime boyfriend who was also a wolf demon hybrid thing that I had in 8th grade). It was a painful relationship to be in but I was afraid to end it... And then the straw that broke the camel's back was that the ENTIRE TIME(after the 3 months) HE HAD BEEN CHEATING ON ME WHILE USING ME FOR FREE THERAPY, SUPPORT, AND MONEY. I broke up with him 3 months later ending our 14-month relationship. Do I see a therapist for the mental load and stress he put on me? Yes. Do I have anxiety and depression because of this experience? Probably. So yeah that was my worst dating experience ever. Sorry for it being so long I really needed to vent because SOMEONE wants to get back together.

The first time I dated anyone was last year and it was my best friend, but a couple months went by and she had this fight with her friend from another school about them going by their preferred name and they/them pronouns, I tried explaining how they might feel but she wouldn't listen, and that friend did listen about how she might feel, I got upset but I just tried having empathy for her, until I started asking her to call me by my preferred name and pronouns even I have been since before the fight. She got really mad and we took a break. 2 weeks went by and we stopped the break cause she missed me. But everyone was calling me by Ashen and she wasn't so she got frustrated and said "your parents named you this because they loved you at some point!" which might have been true, but it doesn't take away that love. And let me tell you this, I specifically told her she didn't need to call me by it, but it was everyone else that got her mad, she started controlling me so a couple months ago I broke up with her. She still calls me my deadname and thinks we're friends.

I was ready to meet someone and have my very first date (blind date, but still the first one I had ever had). We were going to meet at a busy bowling alley, and I arrived 49 minutes early to book a lane. I then nervously waited. Four hours pass and I get a message from our mutual friend that she was not going to show up due to her being back with her ex.

I once dated a dude, kind of a „bad guy“, he did drugs and all sort of minor crimes. I am more of a „good girl“. University degree, no criminal records, don’t even smoke. He told me that he feels safe and understood with me and that he wants to settle down and become calmer. I believe him. He pretty soon kind of moved in with me. His mails arrived at my address. Some of them were from court, so I asked him about it. Apparently, he was accused of having r*ped a woman. Should have been a super red flag, but I was naive. And he said it was a false accusation. Well, he started „borrowing“ my car, brought friends over uninvited, took my money… and became physically and s*xually abusive. Besides, he told me about his cousin having a weapon and him knowing how to make people „disappear“. I was scared…
One day, he wanted to visit relatives in his home country (I live in Europe, he was from a different country than me). The police searched the bus with which he traveled and arrested him for some drug related crime. He ended up in prison and I finally officially left him.
Even worse than the abuse was the comments others made about it. „You let him in your life“, „you should have seen it coming“, „you should have left him“, and the worst: „I’m sure you found it exciting“. Ah well…
My advice for everybody out there: listen to your gut feeling and don’t ignore major red flags! Nobody changes for you!

TL; DR: was with an abusive douchebag

I was not dating but it was my crush. So I told my closet friends that I like him and some how he found out. I figured out how he found out like a couple days before I felt ready to ask him out. But anyways I decided to help him with his project for science and when he thinks I'm not looking this guy starts telling his friends and creating a rumor while his friends look at me in shock. I asked if we could talk for a second and his friends said go easy on her. I told him hey I saw what you were doing and I think you're a jerk for doing that. Then he straight up lies to my face. Then I tell him you just liked that I liked you. You think your so popular. And I walked away. Then today he called me annoying in front of the whole class because he was jealous I got a better grade than him. Well if you weren't focused on spreading rumors you could've done better

I’m AroAce and only had one relationship, as an experiment. And we got along for the first part, but when I realized I didn’t have any feelings for them, and I broke up. They started to cut their wrists and keep in mind we were in the 6th grade at the time, so I was stunned, and I got back with them so they’d stop. I guess since it’s the only relationship I ever had, it’d be the best AND worst-

Well, I've only dated three times. The first two guys were both horrible and the last one is amazing (I'm still dating him). The middle one was my worst. I thought he was the best, I thought he loved me, only to find out he had been cheating on me basically since we started dating. But I'm happy to be with a way better guy who actually loves me. We've been dating for almost 10 months now.
