I actually knew someone who shot-off half of their leg because they wanted to clean a firearm while drunk and didn't clear it.
I also know someone else who has a limp now from being shot at a campground by a drunk (yes again our friend alcohol) because the shooter didn't think about ricochets and all the people surrounding them, they just wanted to shoot their gun in the woods.
Firearms and alcohol are stupid!

A long time ago (1995), a couple of friends (both M in their early 20's) of mine were at the beach and they decided they were going to see how deep they could dig a hole. That devolved into trying to dig a tunnel with an entrance and an exit, and a sand bridge over the top. One of these friends was under the "bridge" trying to dig out the other side when the whole thing collapsed on top of him, burying his head under a sh*t load wet beach sand. It took several minutes to free his head. He was life-flighted to the hospital in a coma. He woke up a couple of days later with some pretty severe brain damage. He was definitely not the same guy he was before the accident. All because two grown as* men wanted to dig a hole...

several incidences because i am clumsy as f**k.
incident 1: fell down the stairs laughing, no broken bones, no sprained anything, no brain damage (i hope), but one broken pair of glasses and a bruised ego when I had to explain to my PE teacher why I was covered in bruises.
incident 2: tried jumping onto a ledge next to a fence to look at a hawk in the neighboring tree, missed, face first into a plank of wood.
incident 3: tripped over my own foot into a rosebush. was wearing shorts. had to pick out thorns from my legs.
