Got kicked out of men's christian sober house for talking to my fiance. (Who is sober) became homeless. Found my idea of a higher power. Stayed sober. Got a temp job which became permanent. Stayed sober. Moved in with fiance and son. Stayed sober. Apartment was bad. Broke lease and moved. Stayed sober and paid the debt to the old apartment. Worked my butt off and stayed sober. Bought a house.
All of that took 3 yrs for me. Can't say it was the only reason but a so called christian sober house started me on my journey by being hypocrites but that forced me to really do the work to stay sober.
