I am a Southern California mosaic artist and teacher who teaches my technique of creating contemporary mosaic surfboards. While on my journey of working as a mosaic artist, I decided to try my hand at creating mosaics on surfboards while living on the coast and around the surfing culture there. I had been a mosaic artist since 2003 and after beginning as a self-taught artist with this art form I had naturally gravitated to experimenting and trying many different types of substrates and adhesives as well as eventually learning different techniques from some of the top mosaic artists and teachers in the world. I made my first mosaic surfboard for a charity event in Huntington Beach, CA which later led to my being invited to teach how I created this piece with the instructional video company “Mosaic Arts Online” with whom I had already been invited to create a “Mosaic on Stone” instructional video years prior. Bringing instruction to the comfort of your own home or studio was very important to me and something I had wished I had available to me when I first began my journey as a mosaic artist while being a single, working mom who didn’t have the luxury of traveling for in-person classes.
It has been nothing but a positive journey to create the instructional video “Mosaic a Surfboard with Anne Marie Price” with “Mosaic Arts Online” and their huge inventory of instructional videos alongside top mosaic artists and teachers from around the world as well an honor to be included. I put my heart and soul into creating easy-to-understand, step-by-step instructions with the idea that we all learn at different levels, in different ways, and in different amounts of time needed to absorb information. The style of these instructional videos where you easily can go back to a particular section to review is a big reason I chose this company to work with and offer my courses. Along with my being a mom..a mosaic artist and teacher... I am also an autistic human and I understand how very important it is to have instruction that works for many different learning styles and thought processing.
My mosaic surfboard instructional video is geared toward more intermediate to advanced students where you need to have some knowledge of drawing out a design... It is also a course made to keep it simple and well-explained with each process so that most students will get the information they need to create their own original mosaic works of art on a not-so-common and unique substrate like a surfboard.
