My name is Giovanni Vale, I am a journalist and travel writer. I am launching the first guidebook series to countries that no longer exist, "Extinguished Countries". In these days of quarantine and travel limitations, these guidebooks make us travel back in time, to lost kingdoms, republic and empires, looking for what unites us rather than divides us. The first book of the series is about the Republic of Venice, a 1000-year old state that stretched all the way from Italy to Cyprus and that died in 1797.
