Most people think fashion is about glamor. But when you look out the window in my hometown of Novosibirsk (Russia), you see endless concrete blocks, grey snow and rusted pipes.
Instead of running away from it, I decided to turn this "Post-Soviet Gloom" into High Fashion.
I created a digital fashion brand called TONKYSTYLE. I took things we see every day — pickles, construction foam, cheap plaid bags — and turned them into luxury items.
The craziest part? People actually want to buy this. Here is my "Ghetto Couture" collection.

This texture is iconic for everyone who lives in Eastern Europe. The tiles of the Soviet panel houses (Khrushchovka). Camouflage for introverts.
Grandma's pickles are a staple food here. Crunchy, salty, and now — wearable. Made of glass and dill.
