I started making these illustrations in 2014 after setting myself a goal to draw everyday, since drawing brings me great joy. I was teaching elementary school at the time and there used to be a lot of markers lying around in my office which I started playing around with. I'm especially fond of nature and I've always been a fan of drawing trees and floral patterns and as my sketches developed I started focusing more on the detail surrounding us everyday. I always focus on the different parts making up a bigger picture - a tree isn’t only a tree, but a collection of individual leaves. Initially, it took me weeks to months to finish a single piece, but now it's down to a day or so. I sometimes incorporate plants I see in my surroundings, but most of them are just made up as I go along.
