Las Vegas takes entertainment to new heights with the emergence of the Sphere—a one-of-a-kind venue providing an unforgettable immersive experience. Opened just a couple weeks ago—end of September, 2023,—the venue began its history with a bang, with the first performers being the iconic band from Ireland led by the one and only Bono, U2. (The opening act was the first of the 25 shows the band is expected to play at the Sphere throughout the upcoming months.)
CNN reports that standing 366 feet tall and 516 feet wide, Sphere is considered to be the world’s largest spherical structure. The interior of the gigantic crystal ball features a stage on the bottom level and the arguably biggest and highest-resolution LED screen, dragging you in as you marvel at the visuals.

Nearly 19k visitors can enjoy exceptional shows at the state-of-the-art-venue
The Daily Mail detailed that the exceptional venue—which cost around $2.3 billion to build—fits roughly 18,600 concert goers. They get to enjoy visuals showcased using 1.2 million LED lights, spanned out on a 580,000 sq ft immersive screen.
Those eager to witness a mesmerizing spectacle with their own eyes have to think fast, as it's arguably safe to assume that the cheapest tickets—starting at $140, for the U2 concerts, at least—ought to sell out fast.
Las Vegas Review-Journal pointed out that at least 60% of the U2 concert tickets should cost less than $300, and the highest price people might be asked to pay for the floor seats should not exceed $550.

Advertising on the screens of Sphere is likely to be a costly affair
The ones who will have to open their wallets quite wide, though, are companies who wish to advertise on the Sphere’s screens. The Daily Mail reports that, according to leaked information regarding the company's sales pitch, the venue is going to be charging companies $450,000 for one day of advertising.
On his X (formerly Twitter) account, the entrepreneur and investor Joe Pompliano pointed out that the price of advertising for one week would call for an additional 200k dollars. “Those prices include working with MSG's 300+ designers on the creative & they estimate 4.7 million daily impressions (300k in person & 4.4M on social),” he wrote in his X post.

Entertainment enthusiasts finally got to enjoy the Sphere experience during the first show, a concert by U2
During the first ever performance in Sphere, U2 started a run of 25 shows scheduled to take place at the venue until mid-December. Titled “U2: UV Achtung Baby Live at Sphere,” the concert series pays tribute to the band’s 1991 album “Achtung Baby”.
The first show—seemingly a great success—was marked not only by the performance of the iconic band but by the appearance of some well-known faces as well. CNN pointed out that among those on the red carpet were celebrities such as Paul McCartney, Snoop Dogg, Oprah, Jeff Bezos, and many more.

For people who aren’t fond of concerts, Sphere offers different kinds of entertainment. They can enjoy interactive experiences with Aura—a real-life humanoid robot. “Aura will show you how culture and technology and science and art have always been intertwined throughout human history,” Sphere’s official website informs. Visitors can also immerse themselves in the ‘Postcard from Earth’, a specially commissioned multi-sensory film by acclaimed director Darren Aronofsky.
