I'm a father of five, which is a big family by today's standards. But I didn't want to live in a giant suburban home.
I wanted to walk everywhere, lower my family's consumption footprint, and bring everyone closer together (literally).
So I adapted a 1000 square foot, 29th floor, 2 bedroom and den condo in downtown Vancouver district to work perfectly for us.

The living area is for Just Dance competitions
The boys room has a custom IKEA hack triple bunk
...their room doubles as videogame lair (PS4, couch)
Girls room has an IKEA toddler bed bunk hack
...with a view of the city and floor space to play
Our in-suite storage became a kids art room instead
And for just $100, we have a campfire on the deck
Closet hacks made a school-style "cloak room"
And with 5 kids and a small house, cleaning is fast
It's been 2 years since we moved in - so far, so good!
