Dry hands are a pretty common occurrence, especially during winter. But did you know that your own dry hands could be adding years onto your age?
In a survey which asked participants to estimate the age of a person based solely on a photo of their hands, 69% guessed the owners of dry hands were older than their actual age.
Conversely, those with non-dry hands were perceived as younger than their age 56% of the time.
The infographic shows the differences in actual and perceived ages. In two instances, the hands of a 28 year old were guessed to be 80 years old! A non-dry 33 year old hand was estimated at six years old, representing the biggest 'younger' difference.
Given the amount of money we spend on anti-ageing products (an estimated $261 billion in 2013!), are we giving enough attention to the hands that can age us so much?
