My son was 6 foot 2 inches high, lean, well educated, and very handsome. We were at a party celebrating his older sister's graduation from college, my wife and I were in the house and my son was outside.
All of a sudden, we saw a half-dozed girls heads turn and light up. One of the girls got up and walk towards the front door. We watched her and she was headed right towards our son who had just come inside. She casually stood in front of him but our son was oblivious to her.
I watched several other times where he was attracting girls attention over time but was not aware of it.
I onced asked him if he had a girlfriend to which he answered “why would any girl want me”? It broke my heart. I answered, “because you are a nice, kind person.”.
Several years later he was traveling around Africa when he entered a youth hostel where he encountered two girls speaking French. Now, the only reason my son knew French was that his mother suggested that he should take Spanish as it was the second language in California.
He is now married to one of those girls, has 2 sons and in living in France. He is very happily married.
