New parents struggling financially diluted their baby formula to make it last longer. The excess water messed with baby’s kidneys and electrolyte levels, mainly sodium. Baby’s brain swelled and she seized repeatedly, stopped breathing, and eventually passed away. We did everything we could for her but it was pretty much all a moot point by the time parents called 911 :(.
