For this family of tourists at the Steveston Fisherman's Wharf in Canada, it was supposed to be just another pleasant afternoon feeding sea lions and enjoying the animals' company. However, a terrifying video shows a sea lion grabbing the little girl and dragging her into water - all this horror happening in just a blink of an eye!
The video was taken by Michael Fujiwara from Vancouver. He said: "I was just sitting by the dock and then this sea lion popped its head out of the water just in front of me. I just took out my cell phone and started filming."
"The sea lion actually attracted a lot of attention from the visitors there, including the young girl... She and her family, I guess, they came, they started feeding the animal bread crumbs or whatever it was, and then I guess the animal got a little too comfortable."
The girl was saved by a brave man who is thought to be her relative. Clearly, both the girl and the saviour felt traumatized by the experience.
It's not clear if the sea lion intended any harm - usually they're known for being highly intelligent creatures who are gentle and timid by nature. Nevertheless, the video serves as an alarming reminder to be more careful around wild creatures.
