(Sneak Peek) "The Straight Man" Comedy Troupe Gender Bends Classic Comedy Icons

Fashion and Beauty Photographer Benjamin Stone teamed up with NYC comedy troupe "The Straight Man" for a playfully subversive photo series. Comedians Jamie Benson and Hannah Goldman blur the gender lines of famous comedy duos like the Blues Brothers, Lucy and Ethel, and Abbott and Costello.

Peoples Improv Theater (PIT) has invited "The Straight Man (TSM) to present genre-busting and gender-bending variety shows that spotlight femme and queer talent. This change for the PIT marks a growing trend of marginalized performers claiming space within the NYC comedy scene. TSM recently subverted heteronormative comedy through a strategic Valentine’s performance and will do the same for Gay Pride on June 29th at 9:30pm. "The Straight Man Celebrates Gay Pride" will feature a wildly diverse assortment of NYC’s best LGBTQIA+ comedic talent. Jamie Benson and Hannah Goldman (pictured here) will host the event.
