Someone very close to me was recently diagnosed and it has been utterly devastating... she has Stage IV lung cancer and has never smoked a day in her life (cruel irony). Most people consider lung cancer to be a self-inflicted disease and because of that thought process, it gets the least federal research funding per lost life than any other major form of cancer.
Lung cancer takes more lives than breast, prostate, colon and pancreatic cancer combined, according to the American Lung Association. It is also on the rise in non-smoking young women.
This shirt was designed with hopes of adding a little bit of levity to an otherwise somber situation and raise awareness (not specifically for lung cancer, but for all forms) for how cancer impacts the lives of those around us. Cancer sucks... but we can keep working to kick it in the a**!
