I am Sinan Haliç. As an adventurer at heart, I have always been excited at the prospect of seeing and exploring the world. Anytime that I can visit a new location, I do so, and when the opportunity to learn about a new culture presents itself, I jump at it. I want to see the world in all its diversity and wonder; this is what excites me most and makes me happiest. To see the world in all its wonder, that it is my overarching goal in life.
Bringing together all my global experiences and my commitment to the arts, I am now working on a project that I believe to be a perfect fit for Kickstarter’s community of people committed to bringing new things to life.
My project, the Earth Map, is meant to connect the nations of the world both with respect to their natural landscapes and with respect to the unique cultures that permeate the space within their borders. This project is very near and dear to my heart, and it is with great pride that I bring it to you today. Everywhere I have gone, the world has looked different, from the homes that have been erected upon it to the ground beneath my feet.
My Earth Map will illustrate the variety of the planet with soils collected from each individual country. These soils are very distinct in their appearance, so the soil from Iceland is characteristically soil from Iceland, the soil from Australia is characteristically from Australia, and so on and so forth for every country in the world.
People have already begun sending me soil from their countries and participating in this project, showing just how much excitement there is for a project like this one designed to bring the world’s people together as one.
