I am an Australian/German underwater photographer who create whimsical underwater images of children using reflection and buoyancy... When I photograph babies and kids underwater I want to capture innocence and purity and turn it into art, almost like a painting.
Photographing kids underwater is like photographing wildlife... you never know their next move. There is a margin of 2 secs per submersion and only a split second where everything is in place. I often experience that the time given to me to create art is sometimes less than 30 secs of the actual shooting.
It is challenging and exciting, that's the beauty of it!
