I have recently posted about this. I am 30 years old and was a victim of a workplace bully. I have never been treated so poorly by someone before. I am shamed to admit that it affected my whole life so negatively. I would cry in the bathroom and not being able to sleep the nights before I knew I had to work with her. She treated me almost like I wasn't worthy of being human. The work environment was so toxic and tense all because of one person. She was friends with management so they naturally sided with her. She had ostracized me completely and even refused to speak to me. She would say things negative about me in my presence just to make me feel bad. It's almost like she got pleasure out of my pain. We worked in an office environment so we needed to work as a team to effectively complete our jobs but my work suffered as a consequence due to her refusal of working with me. Management told me regarding the issue that I should watch how I 'treat' people. I was stocked because I always aim to be a kind and respectful person. Not a mean bone in my body. I was so confused. I never went out of my way to do anything to her or to my knowledge never disrespected her no matter how awful or dreadful she actually was. This person was absolutely insufferable. She spent her shifts talking about herself and her problems nonstop and refused to listen to anyone else speak unless it was about her. She just expelled toxicity everyday. She was loud, dramatic, brash, qnd to be fair was probably an narcissist(not saying this just because I wasn't crazy about her). I tried to talk to her and would give her advice when she ranted about her problems but she just ignored me. She actually refused to speak to me. It all came to light one day when she straight up told me to my face, "honesty I don't care" every time I tried to talk. I can't even fathom how anyone could be like that and treat someone like such trash. Management had confronted her regarding the behavior and she played it off like it was all a misunderstanding and that she was never rude to me on purpose. Management went on to believe that I was making it all up in my head and actually said that to my face.management had a soft spot for her for some reason. They were close and I think they actually felt bad for her.The snide remarks continued. There became a point where I decided I wasn't going to take it anymore! One day she made snide remarks to me and I said, "I do not appreciate that!". She then turns the tables and acted like I was attacking her. There was no winning with her. Anytime I stood up for myself she made it into a huge dramatic scene. I no longer have to deal with her but I really have no idea how I stuck through as long as I did.
