Sad but true. I watched a video once about this black girl who went to a party and vanished. Kid's mother tried everything to get the authorities to give a rat's backside. They did nothing. Brushed her off, claimed the kid had just run off, calm down and go home she'll show up, etc. Turned out the poor thing had drunkenly wandered into a walk-in freezer (party was at a hotel), all of it caught on security cameras the cops had not bothered to check, and froze to death over the course of several gruelling hours.
