“AITA For Telling My Family The Real Reason My Mother And I Are Not Attending My Sister’s Wedding?”
“AITA For Telling My Family The Real Reason My Mother And I Are Not Attending My Sister’s Wedding?”

Tabitha;, it's clear from the posting that she WON't know what's happening (explictly stated that she just "likes events.") She doesn't know what's she missing. That's the main and most important point here.

“AITA For Telling My Family The Real Reason My Mother And I Are Not Attending My Sister’s Wedding?”
“AITA For Telling My Family The Real Reason My Mother And I Are Not Attending My Sister’s Wedding?”

Here's what I think. The poster thinks that her mom would be happy at an event. Very plausible. But what the poster really isn't focusing on is that she won't know WHY she is there. And the sister is worried and upset about the situation (and it makes her sad.) The mother is not losing out on the wedding; she's just losing out on an "event." Even if the caregiver disagrees with her , the sister gets to make this decision; the bride makes this decision. I think it's cruel for the caregiver to say if she's not coming, I'm not coming. I had a father with Alzheimer's when I was married, but fortunately he was still with us enough to know exactly what was happening, to welcome my husband to the family, and waltz with me. This is not at all the case with the mother here. He and my mom walked me (outside) to where I was married. It gave me so much joy. (He was a GREAT dad.) I think the caregiver is taking too much on herself, she needs to let others help, not thinking clearly

Woman Expected To Cater To Husband’s Family For 6 Weeks Without Being Asked, Plans To Leave This Time
Woman Expected To Cater To Husband’s Family For 6 Weeks Without Being Asked, Plans To Leave This Time

I would leave. Find a friend or sibling or someone to stay with, the WHOLE time. And I'd stop allowing those parent visits. If he can't work with you on this; than you need to discuss separating. He is going to have to decide whether he wants to please his family or whether what happens in your joint home is up to both of you. DO NOT stay here while they are there. (you should probably let them know, in a letter or something, that you had no idea they were coming, and it doesn't work for you.)

Woman Tells DIL To Not Bring Her Grandchild If She Can’t Spank It, Is Surprised By The Answer
Woman Tells DIL To Not Bring Her Grandchild If She Can’t Spank It, Is Surprised By The Answer

Hitting a child is child a***e. Full stop. I'm 61, and I was spanked as a child, which is why I never spanked my daughter. I found that explaining to her why something was forbidden generally steered her away. (I also didn't have loads of senseless rules, which my parents did.)

You hit a child, the only thing you're "teaching" them is that you are to be feared and also that they cannot trust you.

Mom Wants Daughter Out After She Turns 18, Dad Uncovers The Selfish Reason Behind It: “I Couldn’t Believe It”
Mom Wants Daughter Out After She Turns 18, Dad Uncovers The Selfish Reason Behind It: “I Couldn’t Believe It”

we are not talking legal responsibility; and MANY students live at home and attend relatively close colleges and universities in the US. Housing prices are incredibly high; rents, utilities, etc., ....It's not common here in the US anymore unless people don't understand the current economies, etc., and they think they'll just do what their parents did to them.

I would add that the latest statistics show that adults 25 and under - HALF of them live with their parents now. Also, the latest research shows that our brains don't fully "adult" til we're 25.

50 Times Job Seekers Ruined Their Own Interviews

I think this is an example of how I WOULD be impressed, and clearly a lot of people on this post have no idea of why she was hired. I don't want to be sexist here, but I'm guessing a lot more women than men would relate positively to this.

40 Parents Are Sharing All The Hilariously Absurd Reasons Why Their Kids Cry, And You Couldn't Make Them Up
40 Parents Are Sharing All The Hilariously Absurd Reasons Why Their Kids Cry, And You Couldn't Make Them Up

Folks; you cannot "TEACH" toddlers/preschoolers/ and kids up to about the age of 8 not to drink/eat this stuff and think that it will keep them safe. Any more than you should leave steam radiators in your house uncovered, because you "taught" your 1.5 year old not to touch it (after I warned my neighbor about this, he's just; "oh, we've taught him not to touch it. Two months later; Second -degree burn, ER, etc." PLEASE study up on brain development in little kids. Put ALL dangerous items (guns, poisons, which include dishwasher pods/cleaning materials VERY high up; ideally in locked containers or containers VERY difficult to open; remember they can pull stools to use, climb shelves, etc. )

They need a lawyer and probably a couples' counselor specializing in financial abuse.

There was an OP update section - other women reported him also. Maybe even more serious issues of harassment?

People Who've Walked Out Of First Dates Share The Moment They Realized They Should Leave (40 Stories)

I hate dodgeball; I've thought it was cruel and abusive since I had to participate in middle school. Why ANY adults sanction this I can't understand. Whether the ball is soft or hard (and it was hard when I was young) - what the hell!!!
